Questions
Before you order
The questions we get asked most often on the phone. If yours is not here, call or send the form — we would rather answer it before you order than after.
Before we start
Do I have to rip out my old countertop first?
Yes — the existing countertop has to come out before the new one can go in. If you do not have someone to handle the removal, we can take care of it for you. Please note that removal is an additional service: it is not part of the standard installation, and it is quoted separately from the countertop work. Tell us up front what needs to come out and we will include it in your quote.
How long does a kitchen take?
One to two weeks from start to finish for a typical kitchen. Cabinets go in first and get levelled; only then do we template the stone, so the countertop matches the room as it was actually built rather than as it was drawn.
Do you charge for the measurement and template?
There is a charge for the diagnosis and template visit, and we credit it back against the job if you go ahead with us.
How soon do I get the quote after the visit?
The same day.
Is there a minimum square footage?
No. There is no minimum — a single vanity top is as welcome as a full kitchen.
Can I buy the material only, without installation?
Yes. We sell material on its own as well as supplied and installed.
On install day
Do you install the sink, or do I need a plumber?
We sell the sink and we install it. The bowl is cut into the slab and polished in our shop before the top ever reaches your house, so the cutout matches that exact sink. The final plumbing hook-up is the one part a licensed plumber normally finishes.
Do you take out the old sink, range and garbage disposal?
Yes, we can remove them. That is charged as an extra on top of the countertop work, so tell us up front what needs to come out and it goes in the quote.
Do you cut for a drop-in cooktop and a soap dispenser?
Yes. Cooktop cutouts, soap dispenser holes and extra faucet holes are all done in the shop, along with the sink cutout.
What if my wall is not straight?
We scribe the stone to the wall. Almost no wall in an older house is truly straight, so the back edge gets shaped to follow it instead of leaving a gap to caulk.
What happens if a piece breaks during installation?
We take responsibility for it and replace it. Breakage on our side of the job is ours to fix.
Do you work with contractors and builders?
Yes. We supply and install for general contractors, builders and property managers as well as for homeowners. Tell us the schedule you are working to and we will fit the template and install dates around the rest of the trades.
Price and payment
What does a countertop cost?
It depends on two things: the stone you pick and how much surface you need. Every kitchen is a different size and every material prices differently, so we quote each job instead of publishing a rate. Send us your rough measurements and the material you have in mind and we will come back with a number.
How does payment work?
Cabinets are paid in full at delivery. Countertops and stone are split: 70% to start and the remaining 30% when the job is finished.
Do you take cards?
Yes, we accept card payments.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — we carry a New Jersey home improvement contractor registration and general liability insurance. We are happy to send the paperwork to any customer who asks. Just say the word when you request your quote.
Materials and care
Do you work with suppliers?
Yes. We work with a number of suppliers, and that is how we can offer the range you see here — over 350 stone colours, eighteen cabinet door finishes and six sink series. If you have seen something that is not in the showroom, bring us a photo or the name and we will tell you straight away whether we can get it.
What is the difference between marble, quartz and granite?
Marble and granite are natural stone, cut from a quarry — every slab is one of a kind, and marble is the softer of the two, so it wants a little more care around acids like lemon and wine. Quartz is engineered: ground stone bound with resin, so it comes out consistent slab to slab and needs no sealing. Quartzite and porcelain sit alongside them for harder-wearing and ultra-thin applications. We carry all five.
Can I see the actual slab before you cut it?
Yes, and we would rather you did. A photograph and a small sample never show you what a full slab does — veining runs differently across a big piece. Come to the Camden showroom and look at the material in person before you commit.
Do marble and granite need sealing?
Yes. Natural stone is sealed, and it wants resealing about once a year. Quartz does not need it.
What is the warranty?
Three years on the cabinet door closing hardware — the hinges and the soft-close mechanism.
How a project runs
From first call to final seam
- 01
Talk it through
Call, WhatsApp or send the quote form with your rough measurements and a photo of the space.
- 02
Pick your material
Come to the Camden showroom and choose the actual slab and door style. Natural stone varies — this part matters.
- 03
Cabinets set first
Cabinets are installed and leveled so the countertop is templated against what is really there.
- 04
Template and install
We template, fabricate and come back to install the tops and backsplash. Most projects are finished within 1 – 2 weeks from start to finish.
